Traditional plots are the most commonly used plots. They don't have too crazy of a storyline, but they are still equally as fun as nontraditional ones. These usually deal with infections spreading through the air, a water supply, or radiation.

Mad Scientist

This plot is the most commonly used theme in games played around the world. A mysterious virus breaks out infecting thousands of people. A cure can not be found for them, and one by one Humans start turning into what they find out to be Zombies, (starting out with the Original Zombie or "OZ"). A scientist attempts to find vaccines, antidotes, etc to help the Zombies, and the Humans as the Humans fight against the Zombies. The Humans attempt to keep the scientist safe the whole time in hopes that he comes up with a vaccine before they all meet a untimely demise.
Alternate versions of this plot have been played. PTI's first HvZ went with a local water system being contaminated. Other versions could be power plants leaked radiation leading to airborne illnesses..

Zombie Apocalypse

Oh no! A Zombie Apocalypse breaks out during your HvZ meeting! If you hold a meeting explaining the general play of the game, make sure you emphasize "in case of a Zombie infestation report to ____" Make up a safe zone your the humans can report to just in case. During the meeting, have your moderators carry around walkie talkies, and Nerf guns to make it look like you are expecting someone, or better yet...something. Half way through have a moderator report over the walkie talkies about Zombies coming straight for your location. Tell your humans to get to the safe zone immediately and thus the game begins. The key to this plot is to make the game similar to a real life Zombie Apocalypse.

Infectious Spores

Hideous mushrooms are spotted around campus, and they've been spewing their vile spores into the air. Some students have gotten violently ill from the contagion, and it's said that those put down with the illness don't stay down long. Shadows seem to drift in the night, and many are scared to even approach the mushrooms. Missions could be based around the humans getting medicine, or vaccinated so they stay human and don't contract the infection.

Animal Testing

This is sort of like the Mad Scientist plot, only with animals. A scientist experiments on animals, only to have the experiments to go wrong. The animals get infected with an unknown virus, and soon enough it spreads to the human population. Then the game could be played out with the same storyline, or you could add in more animal testing, different missions. Whatever you feel like!

Armory

This plot could take interesting turns in the game. At the beginning of the games the humans start out with just socks as weapons; the moderators take their guns, but will return them later in the game. The plot starts as soon as there is a zombie sighting around campus. The humans have to rush to a safer location, which leads them outside pretty much weaponless. This gives the OZ a chance to gather a small horde. The resistance defends themselves, and figures out they have to go a missing persons tent to see who is infected and who isn't. The plot is driven by survival. Radiation, scientists and their assistants, military, viral diseases...can all be used in this type of plot.

Radioactivity

PTI's first HvZ game began with a local student on his internship working at a power plant, when radiation happened to have leaked into the water supply. The student is transformed into a Zombie, and starts infecting everyone around campus. Missions could deal with vaccines, antidotes, protecting a professor or scientist, and final helicopter missions...etc.
