High School
From Humans vs. Zombies Wiki

Overview
This ruleset was created by Columbia City High School. It uses the restrictions of a high-school setting and allows for a fun and competitive one-day game. There are 3 classes used; Humans, Zombies, and Referees. Unlike other games, Refs tend to play a more hands-on role with the players by announcing Human deaths and monitoring proper game-play actively. Unlike other games, the CCHS game uses a count-down clock for the Zombie plays to alert their starvation. As this is a day game, the Zombies are initially given 15 minutes to tag a human, upon which they add an additional 5 minutes to their timer. The maximum time allowed for a Zombie life is always 15 minutes.
The original game used registration fees and the last human and zombie alive would split the "pot" of registration fees. Due to the Humans vs. Zombies Terms of Service, "No one may charge any player to participate in any game of HvZ – unless it would otherwise be impossible to host the game". Since it is prohibited from playing Humans vs. Zombies with charges to the players, other incentives should be used as a reward.
Gameplay
At the beginning of the game, all Players report to their pre-determined computer lab. Once a player is tagged, both the Human and Zombie must report to their computer lab to log their kill and restart their time (in the case of the Zombie). Humans wait here until their 5-minute reanimation timer is up. Mini-missions are announced at these locations to the players.
Safe Zones
The CCHS game restricts game-play from being played inside rooms except for a gymnasium, auditorium, and media center. The majority of the game is played outside and "deaths" of Humans and Zombies are announced on the PA system.
Human Rules
The goal of the Human players is to live as long as possible. To do this Humans may use pre-approved harmless defense items; Nerf blasters, balled-up socks, etc. Humans are highly suggested to give their "final words" upon being tagged by a Zombie. Once tagged, Humans have a 5-minute stasis time where they are inactive. At the end of the fifth minute, Humans reanimate as Zombies.
- I don't quite understand their bandanna rule, might need to edit later.
Zombie Rules
At the beginning of the game, three individuals are chosen as the original zombies and are unleashed upon the Humans. Zombies have 15 minutes (to begin with) to tag a human or they will starve and leave the game to be observers.
Safety Rules
No player may tag or engage with non players. Moderation of the game will be done by the Referees who wear a different colored bandanna than the Human and Zombie players. Rules are vigorously moderated by the Referees who escort players from the game if they disobey any safety rules determined by the CCHS student handbook. Overall, the game is meant to be fun and safe and any act that endangers or threatens a player is considered a violation of the rules.
